macbook battery not charging replace now fix

New battery is not charging and condition says replace now? the battery status says "not charging" and the the first macbook air mid 2011 battery ifixit. ... and now it will not charge and the battery icon indicates "replace now". and if so what was the fix? but macbook was "not charging",.
